SUNDAY, 4pm: Hamilton Tennis Club's men's first team continued their winning form by beating Carisbrooke C 8-1.
Ed Blake and Peter Thorpe once again won all three sets as did Steve Wallace and James Rowe, while Ash Patel and Alex Mayhew won two.

Scores: Peter Thorpe/Ed Blake W 9-4, 9-2, 9-4; Steve Wallace/James Rowe W 9-5, 9-2, 9-6; Ash Patel/Alex Mayhew W 9-6, 9-8, L 4-9.

*Without number one player Helen Thorpe, the ladies' first team could not beat Oadby Granville, losing 5-4.

Charlie Griffin and Di Burdett won a maximum three sets and Beth Lowe and Margaret Roskell the other.

Scores: Di Burdett/Charlie Griffin W 9-5, 9-3, 9-1; Beth Lowe/Margaret Roskell L 3-9, 5-9, W 9-4; Rosie Gildove/ Tracy White L 4-9, 6-9, 3-9.

*The men's second team maintained their successful season with a 6-3 win over Victoria Thirds with Andy Douglas and Tom Rowe winning all three sets.

Scores: Andy Douglas/Tom Rowe W 9-5, 9-4, 9-1; Doug Hacking/Jose Sabino W 9-5, L 6-9, W 9-2; Nigel Haynes/Jon Hacking L 7-9, 6-9, W 9-2.

*The ladies' second team lost 6-3 to Oadby Granville Thirds.

Beth Lowe and Nicky Kennedy, both without their regular partners, teamed up and won two sets.

Scores: Sue Corfield/Jenny Golland L 6-9, 7-9, 5-9; Beth Lowe/Nicky Kennedy W 9-6, L 8-9, W 9-4; Margaret Heggs/Pat Woolston L 1-9, 3-9, W 9-6.

*The men's third team lost 5-4 to Oadby Granville Sixths, losing three sets 9-7, which could have turned round the result. Graham Hall and Justin Horobin won two sets.

Scores: Steve Thompson/Alex Mayhew L 7-9, W 9-7, L 7-9; Justin Horobin/ Graham Hall W 9-4, L 7-9, W 9-4; Jason Wheatley/Stan Pasiak W 9-7, L 3-9, 3-9.

*The ladies' third team beat Houghton Firsts 6-3.

With the scores level after the second round, Hamilton won all three in the final round including a tie-break win from 7-4 down from Louise Hurley and Margaret Heggs.

Lesley Greaves and Cindy Coulter won their three sets.

Scores: Margaret Heggs/Louise Hurley W 9-8, L 7-9, W 9-2; Lesley Greaves/Cindy Coulter W 9-4, 9-6, 9-2; Eileen Merrison/Sarah Streetly L 5-9, 5-9, W 9-3.

*The men's fourth team lost 6-3 to David Lloyd Thirds.
Andy Stevens and Steve Hall won two sets, while Neil Herries and James Greenberry were forced to concede their last set after Herries was injured.

Scores: Steve Hall/Andy Stevens L 1-9, W 9-7, 9-4; Neil Herries/James Greenberry L 1-9, 0-9 (con), 6-9; Simon Blake/Tony Lowe L 7-9, W 9-7, L 8-9.

*The ladies' fourth team lost an agonisingly close match to Medbourne Seconds 5-4. Di Green and Laura Hayward won all three sets and Christine Stanley and Jean Galloway the other.

Scores: Brenda Langridge/Chris Stevens L 8-9, 8-9, 1-9; Christine Stanley/Jean Galloway W 9-7, L 2-9, 3-9; Di Green/Laura Hayward W 9-3, 9-7, 9-3.

*The ladies' veterans' second team faced Oadby Granville and lost 8-0 to a much stronger team.

Scores: Chris Stevens/Nicky Butler L 1-6, 0-6; L 1-6, 1-6. Margaret Wright/Di Green L 3-6, 1-6; L 4-6, 2-6.
