FRIDAY, 9am: Melton GC captain Mick Curtis had a glorious day for his Captain's Day on Saturday.
A field of 173 competitors played in the sweltering heat to support Mick who also raised money for the junior section by running a putting competition which made £100.
A tombola, evening raffle and drinks at the halfway house raised £400 for Mick's course fund.
The loudest cheer of the presentation saw octogenarian Walter Griffin take the past captain's prize with 34 points, having beaten all the younger past captains that took part.
The day was completed by a barbecue, evening entertainment and the prize presentation.
Mick thoroughly enjoyed the day and thanked everyone for their support and generosity.
