TUESDAY, 9.30am: Egerton Park First XI slipped to defeat in another game they could easily have won.
Everards County League Division Two
RATBY v EGERTON PARK
Ratby won by 58 runs
After winning the toss and bowling, Park pressured with excellent pace bowling from Taylor and Craig. But Ratby rode their luck as steady rain stopped the ball swinging and quickened the pitch.
Ratby pushed the run rate despite Burton's four-wicket haul. Newman took three late wickets and Tubb's good throw led to a run out, but Park were disappointed to let Ratby reach 254-8.
Park could not have made a worst start as both openers departed without scoring. Bailey made a quickfire 20 and, along with Tubb, pushed the score along, but once he was out, Park were reeling at 35-3.
Tubb made another half-century and with Westcott put on 66 for the fourth wicket before the latter was out LBW.
Rose, Tubb and Craig departed and with the score on 127-7 the game seemed over.
Newman and Jonny Murdoch added 88 in quick time, but when Newman (43) was out, and despite needing only 66 from the final 10 overs, Park lost two wickets to finish on 195 all out.
Ratby: 255-8.
Bowling: Taylor 11-2-57-0; Craig 9-2-36-0; Newman 12-1-71-3; Burton 12-1-72-4.

Everards County League Division Six
EGERTON PARK SECOND XI v RATBY SECOND XI
Park won by 6 wkts
PARK ran out convincing winners in the 30th over thanks to Greg Tyler's unbeaten 92.
Putting Ratby in to bat, they slumped to 173-8 from their 45 overs, Ben Hunt taking two early wickets, and Jason Creed one from a hostile opening spell.
Andrew Orridge claimed four from his 13 overs, and with skipper David Glover, slowed the scoring rate down after Ratby had reached 105 at the halfway stage.
Park started superbly with Tyler back to his best, scoring at almost a run a ball. He and Eddie Cham put on 55 in 10 overs for the first wicket before Cham was caught.
Paul Bailey and Jack Harris fell cheaply, before Jason Creed and Tyler put on 76 in just under 12 overs. After Creed was caught five short of a deserved 50, Tyler and Tom Glover guided Park home.
