SATURDAY, 9am: Melton ice hockey star Kieren De'ath had his work cut out in the first legs of the National Challenge Cup last weekend.
Peterborough Islanders hosted Sheffield and Nottingham in the competition last weekend.

In the first game, Peterborough were evenly-matched with the Yorkshire side right up to the final buzzer to earn a 5-5 draw to set up the second leg nicely next weekend.

In the second game of the weekend to decide the National League Championship, Nottingham were a tougher side to break down.

The hosts went two goals ahead but Peterborough were soon under the cosh with Nottingham scoring two quick goals.

Defenceman Kieren De'ath certainly had his work cut out against his former club, but found a way through Nottingham's defence to assist Peterborough's third goal.

More pressure came late on with Nottingham running out 5-4 victors to set up a very interesting return leg on Sunday, May 18.
