MONDAY, 1.20pm: England international kart driver Michael Comber is already preparing to improve next season despite finishing a fine overall third in his debut MotorsTV season.
In the ninth round at Hooton Park in Cheshire, Comber set the second fastest time in qualifying and came fourth with the MotorsTV format running a reverse grid where the fastest qualifiers start. Points are scored for each place gained.

In last week's 10th and final round, Comber was quickest in qualifying and secured pole. He scythed through the opposition and finished fourth.

It left Comber, who was named driver of the tournament at the recent home international competition, with £2,500 in prize money and an automatic entry into next year's MotorsTV competition.

His manager and father Rob Comber said: "We've had a very successful first season in the senior competitions and thanks must go to Klaaassen Motorsport for providing the kart equipment and technical support.

"Also to Andrew Granger and Co who provided financial support to cover the entry fees and running costs.

"Mike is now looking forward to winning the National Kart Championship again in 2008 and adding the Motors TV title to his list of awards."
