Buckminster's Baxter blows Tilton away to seal cup triumph

MONDAY, 4pm: Buckminster won the Burrough League Knockout Cup for the second time with a resounding victory over Tilton on Friday evening at Ashby Folville.

Buckminster won by 54 runs

IN a match reduced to 16-overs-per-side, Buckminster proceeded to amass a huge total of 151 for 3 with Jamie Morgan smashing an unbeaten 45 off just 14 balls.

Pete Morgan (31) and Paul Chadwick (41) got the innings off to a good start.

In Tilton's reply, Steve Allen (2-38) and Alex Sears (2-35) picked up early wickets before Jon Baxter blew away the tail, taking 5 for 15.

Buckminster: P. Morgan 31, P. Chadwick 41, A. Sears 16, J. Morgan 45*, M. Nkomo 0*, Extras 18. Total: 151-3.

Tilton and Lowesby: 97-9.
