Buckminster clinch first league and cup double

WEDNESDAY, 11am: Buckminster won the Golding Cup for the first time thanks largely to a gem of an innings from Jamie Morgan.

Morgan came in with his side in some trouble at 122 for 5, but made an unbeaten 69 off 64 balls. Jon Senescall (20) and Pete Morgan (40) got the innings off to a good start.
In the process, Jamie Morgan went past 1,000 runs for Buckminster for the season, while Dyer (2 for 28) and Roberts (2 for 23) bowled well for Ashby.
In Ashby's reply, Matt Catton (1 for 20) and Gav Baxter (4 for 26) were Buckminster's top bowlers, while Andy Townley top scored for Ashby with 41.
Jamie Morgan was deservedly named man-of-the-match.

BUCKMINSTER'S victory over their closest challengers gave them a Belvoir League and Cup double.
In a game reduced to 12 overs, Ben Stafford took 2 for 28 in the Thorpe innings.
Buckminster got home in the seventh over with Pete Morgan unbeaten on 49 off 24 balls and Alex Sears chipping in with 23.
