Belvoir Vale BC marks Presidents' Day

SATURDAY, noon: Belvoir Vale Bowls Club held their Presidents' Day at Hose on Saturday.
Club president Richard Putnam and ladies' president Susan Pymm welcomed club members and friends.

The afternoon began with a spider competition before a fun game of triples based on the game of snakes and ladders was held and a buffet meal rounded off the day.

Spider winners: Derek Rout, Hilary Law, Josie Exton, Betty Callaghan.

Snakes and Ladders Triples winners: John Lambert, Keith Wadkins, Brian Birch; runners-up: Barbara Thornelow, Doreen Snell, Don Yaxley.

lA total of 48 members and guests gathered at Holwell Sports Bowls Club for the Barry Wade Trophy in memory of the late club member.

A popular two wood triples competition was won by Keith Ellis, Jean Ladkin and Audrey Kilby with a shot difference of +15 from runners-up Ian Packwood, Betty Rudkin and Doreen Gillett on +7.

A single wood triples knockout competition was then held and won by Thelma Stubbs, Rick Stables and Terry McCarthy.
