THURSDAY, 12.30pm: With the Ashes just six days away, a touring part of Australians will be in action in our area tomorrow.
Belvoir Castle Cricket Trust host a talented young college side from Melbourne as the first of three England v Aussie clashes at their Knipton base.
A Duchess of Rutland XI will be out to uphold England's honour against an under 17s side from Eltham College.
The tourists boast a good pedigree with several of their side having played representative cricket for state side Victoria.
Trust director Darren Bicknell has selected the Duchess of Rutland XI which will feature four players from the Leicestershire academy, one from the Notts academy, homegrown Jack Copley, who plays for Belvoir CC and five talented cricketers from Lincolnshire.
Spectators are welcome to watch a match which the former England A batsman believes will be a high quality clash: "I am hopeful it will be a very good game and very competitive.
The 45-over-a-side match starts at noon and is expected to finish at 6pm to 6.30pm.
The series of matches between the two countries was inspired by the Duchess' visit to Australia earlier this year to complete the Trust's twinning with the Bradman Foundation.
The second match will bring Sydney's Westfield School to Knipton on Wednesday, July 15 before a Bradman Foundation visit on August 30 for a big charity match.
