MONDAY, 12.30pm: Barkby marched into the final after knocking out holders Buckminster at Egerton Park on Friday night.
Salaman Cup Semi-final
BARKBY v BUCKMINSTER
Barkby won by six runs

Barkby struggled to get an Xl out and unbelievably had five players from the side which last won the cup in 1993 - Hendry, Hollis, Skinner, Flowers and Dutton.

Barkby batted first and got off to a flyer before Skinner was out in the fifth over at 33 for 1. Barkby continued to lose wickets regularly, but Doug German held the innings together and reached his 50 in only the 10th over before Catton removed him to leave Barkby 86 for 5.

Catton (4 for 28) bowled beautifully and took three wickets in his last over before Raithatha hit a cameo 15. Adam Cookson and Hollis had a valuable partnership to take Barkby to 151 for 8.

Buckminster's strong batting line-up looked well set at 62 off 10 overs, before Cookson claimed two wickets in two balls.

Two more wickets fell including a suicidal run out as Buckminster reached 120 for six off 17 overs. Berry hit some lusty blows to leave 14 needed off the last over from captain Hendry's bowling.

Seven came off the first three balls, but on the fourth ball Hendry removed the dangerous Berry for 33.

Six was needed off the last ball for a tie to give Buckminster victory with less wickets down, but Hendry produced a great delivery dot ball.

Barkby: 151-8.
Bowling: S. Allen 4-0-22-2, A. Sears 4-0-33-1, M. Catton 4-0-27-4, J. Baxter 4-0-30-0, B. Stafford 4-0-22-1.

Buckminster: J. Morgan 25, D. Allen 35, S. Brown 0, A. Sears 33, T. Gott 1, D. Bates 5, J. Berry 33, B. Stafford 4*, S. Allen 0*, Extras 9. Total: 145-7.
