It takes its inspiration from the award-winning 1980 movie by Alan Parker/David De Silva and Jose Fernandez's book with music by Steve Margoshes and lyrics by Jacques Levy.
It told the story of New York's High School for Performing Arts with the film spawning a long-running television series, a reality show, and finally the musical.
The musical has been significantly rewritten from the previous adaptations, with an almost entirely new score, and the Brooksby Melton College interpretation also showcases the entirely new script.
Director Bernice Rowan said: "It's inspiring working with such a dedicated, energetic cast.
"The students work hard at all aspects of the show to ensure a high standard of acting, singing and dancing, skills that will ultimately produce a near professional show and a great night out for the audience."
Producer Mark Frisby added: "Fame is a modern classic. The television show of the 1980s still resonates with audiences 30 years on.
"Our student cast and crew fully personify the hopes and aspirations of trainee performers, technicians and wannabe superstars.
"The characters, emotions, situations and personalities are sometimes uncomfortably close to those studying at our own 'fame' academy - great performance, choreography and technical theatre. It's an absolute must see."
