THURSDAY 2.45PM: Melton police got a taste of Poland to help with their work at home.
The six officers travelled to the town's twin, Sochaczew, to learn more about the growing Polish community back here.
Pc Spike Yeoman said: "We organised the trip to give us a better understanding of the Polish culture and help us in our day to day dealings with Polish people living and working on our beat.
"We were overwhelmed by the hospitality of the officers we met. They showed us around their police training camp and local police station and spent a great deal of time and effort showing us as much as they could in the short time we were there."
The group, who all work on B shift, went on the trip in their own time and paid for it themselves.
They have now had their neighbourhood newsletter for Melton Town South translated into Polish.
Polish police officers have been invited to Melton to see English techniques.
