Melton's old and new Polish communities will get together at a networking event planned for the Polish Club in Sandy Lane.
It is hoped the Poles connected with those who first arrived in the area in the 1940s will meet and network with the current wave of their countrymen, who began to arrive after Poland joined the EU in 2004. The March 5 meeting will also include police, charities and health bodies, on hand to help the newer arrivals settle in.
About 700 Poles are now thought to live in the town. Polish food and entertainment will be on offer at the get-together, which will run from 1pm to 7pm.
