FRIDAY 3PM: Melton's news is now available in Polish for the very first time thanks to a downloadable Podcast.
Barsby resident and Polish national Barbara Czyznikowska has begun scripting and recording a weekly summary of the Melton Times in her native language.

The 10-minute or so audio file is completely free to listen to and download at www.meltontimes.co.uk, and is recorded and uploaded to the site in our audio video suite every Friday.

Barbara said: "I'm delighted to be part of it, chossing the right stories to use is a bit of common sense and knowing what Polish people will probably want to listen to. The young Polish generation in particular are more likely to listen and read online rather than buy papers and if you look at the Polish population of Melton they are usually in their late 20s and 30s.

"I did a bit of radio work when I was a student at university in Poland, I really enjoy it and this is a really good initiative. The podcast is already getting around 200 hits a week, and is aimed Melton's growing Polish population, thought to number up to 1,000.

Barbara is pictured recording the second Melton Times weekly Polish Podcast on Friday.
