There’s a wide range of activities for children of all ages this Easter, so there’s no excuse to be bored. Here’s a selection...

Today (April 2)

Easter Egg Hunt, Wilton Park Cafe, Melton, 11am

Free entry. Find the hidden eggs and return them for a chocolate.

Small Furries Workshop, Pets At Home store, Scalford Road, Melton, 1pm-2pm.

Easter Monday (April 6)

Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, Old Brickyard Tea Garden, Eastwell Road, Scalford, 10am-5pm

Fun activities for all the family. Face painting from noon £2, mad hat competition, curious croquet, cake cottage plus craft fun in the secret garden. Free entry and parking. For details call 07803 206852.

Easter Scavenger Hunt, Melton Country Park, 10am

Friday, April 10

Spring Fete, Melton Country Park, 11am-3pm

Easter egg hunts (for children aged six to 12) start at 11am, 12.30pm and 2pm. Also a four-a-side football tournament in the Street Stadia for all ages (registration at 11.30am in the cafe for a noon kick-off). Other attractions to include nail art, golf chipping competition, barbecue, guess the teddy’s name, sweets in a jar, bouncy castle and stalls. Manic Mechanic taster sessions for kids start at 11am, 12.30pm and 2pm.

Saturday, April 11

All Creatures, Great and Small! St Mary’s Church, Melton, 10.30am-noon

Pet show and spring fever-themed morning. Bring your real or toy pet along, prize for all entrants. There will be the chance to go up 143 steps to the top of the church tower at 10.40am. Also includes storytelling, chess, creative prayer, sticker quiz, book swap, cake decorating, giant games and more. All welcome. Free entry.
