Over 110 local Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) groups, local leaders and delegates from a variety of sectors have booked to attend Voluntary Action LeicesterShire’s (VAL) sell-out Future Focus VCS Conference.

The event will welcome Geoff Rowe from the Big Difference Company. Geoff set up Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival in 1994 and, under his leadership, the event has developed into the longest running comedy festival in Europe.

Corin Crane, head of the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership, will also attend the conference alongside leading UK online fundraising platform GlobalGiving UK and VCS organisations of all shapes and sizes.

Future Focus is now in its third year. The conference gives the voluntary and community sector the opportunity to come together, learn and be inspired to keep serving local communities across Leicester and Leicestershire.

VAL’s chief executive Kevan Liles spoke of the occasion saying: “Future Focus gives local organisations the chance to collaborate, share information and be heard. We’re looking forward to welcoming VCS groups ranging from small charities providing services at a grassroots level to ethical businesses that are leading the way in trading for good.”
