Three people trapped after cars were in collision at Nether Broughton

Three people were trapped in the wreckage after two vehicles were in collision on the A606 at Nether Broughton last night (Tuesday).

A female casualty was taken for treatment to Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC) in Nottingham following the incident, at the Broughton Hill crossroads at 7.37pm.

Two crews of firefighters attended the scene from the Melton station and one from Birstall.

A doctor also treated casualties.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Upon arrival we found a road traffic collision involving two vehicles with three people trapped.

“We were involved in extrication of the people and requested three ambulances.

“Vehicles had come to rest on separate carriageways approximately 100 yards apart.”
