Rush hour Melton traffic jams set to ease
Dozens of cars have been backed up on Burton Road and Leicester Road as they entered the town on the last two mornings.
The jams were caused by roadworks being carried out on Mill Street, which usually allows comparatively free-flowing traffic to move to
the east of the town centre.

Hide AdIts closure meant vehicles were all diverted through the one-way Leicester Street where they merged with traffic coming into the town via the A607 Leicester Road.
A County Hall spokesman said: “Mill Street was closed so that we could safely carry out patching work to ensure a satisfactory standard of the carriageway.
“The road is now open. We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.”
