Melton town centre road to be closed to traffic

Leicestershire County Council has taken the measure to enable patching and repair work to be carried out on the carriageway by its highways team.

A County Hall spokesperson said: “The closure is required on Leicester Street, Melton, for its entire length and will be in force from 8.30pm to 6am for a period of three nights from March 6.

“The one-way system on Burton Street/Sherrard Street will be suspended while the road is temporarily closed.

“During the closure, the alternative diversion route will be via Wilton Road, Norman Way, Sherrard Street, and vice versa.”
