Iconic Flying Scotsman steam train set to arrive in Melton

Melton people will get a rare chance to see a steam chugging into the town station once again on Saturday when the iconic Flying Scotsman stops off on a special journey.

The train sets off from London King’s Cross at 6.35am and is due in Melton to pick up passengers at around 10.45am.

The route will take in mainly the East Coast main line but will also include some unusual track lines.

The Flying Scotsman, which will also stop at Oakham station, is due to make the return journey through Melton at about 7.50pm.
