Emergency services scrambled after car overturns into a ditch at Long Clawson

A person was trapped in the wreckage after the car they were travelling in overturned into a ditch at Long Clawson last night (Sunday).

Emergency services attended the scene, on Melton Road at 9.39pm, with two crews of firefighters from Melton and a crew from East Midlands Ambulance Service responding.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said: “A call was received to a road traffic collision involving one vehicle, where a car had overturned in a ditch and one person was trapped.

“The person was extricated by the ambulance service and was assessed by ambulance staff before being transported to hospital by land ambulance.

“The vehicle was made safe by the fire service.”
