Ambulance crew treats casualty after collision near pub

A casualty was treated by an ambulance crew after two vehicles were in collision near a Syston pub on Wednesday morning.

Firefighters from Birstall also attended the incident, which was on the Fosse Way between Syston and Ratcliffe on the Wreake, close to the Gate Hangs Well.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service was alerted to the collision at 8.58am.

A spokesperson said one person was treated by a crew from the East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS).

They said: “It was a two-vehicle road traffic collision, with one casualty who was not trapped.

“The road was closed in one direction and vehicles weremade safe by the fire service.”
