A group of Melton youngsters raised more than £460 at a coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Support on Sunday.

They sold tea, coffee and cakes and held a raffle and tombola at the event in Bickley Avenue.

The young event organisers were Izabella and Zak Roberts, Jaden and Lucas Gibbs and Maddi Bryant.

The coffee morning was held at Izabella and Zak’s home.

Dad Mike said: “The kids did an excellent job in organising the event and it’s really pleasing to see them want to do something to help others.

“We would like to thank everyone who donated prizes or baked cakes and also everyone who attended. Everyone was really very generous.

“We must have had between 40 and 50 people in the garden.”
