SATURDAY 1PM: An adventure race is being staged to raise money for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance.
The Beast, a race over five or 10 miles through water and mud, over steep terrain with 31 obstacles usually jumped by horses, is being held at Aylesford Equine Cross Country Course in Shoby on March 1 – St David's Day.

A beer tent will also be on site with help from The Black Horse in Grimston and the Belvoir Brewery and a special ale is being brewed for the event – Beast Beer – which will be sold in local pubs, too.

Organiser Gaynor Prior, a personal trainer and sports therapist, said: "I've organised similar events before, but I really wanted people to enjoy themselves while raising money for a good cause."

If you would like to take part you can get an application and sponsor forms from Pure Personal Training on 0800 298 7376 or by visiting www.purepersonaltraining.co.uk

Entry costs £20 and every competitor (whether they quit or not) will receive a goody bag filled with lovely stuff including The Beast T-Shirt.
