A brave Melton supermarket employee is set to take part in a 10,000ft skydive in January to raise money for Rainbows Children’s Hospice.

Teresa Phizacklea, who works at Sainsbury’s in Nottingham Road, is doing her tandem skydive from Langar Airfield.

The 53-year-old, who lives in Staveley Road said: “This is something I’ve always wanted to do. My colleagues at work think I’m crazy but they know me and nothing would surprise them.

“I’m jumping 10,000ft in aid of Rainbows Children’s Hospice which is the store’s chosen charity of the year to support. My fundraising target is £500.

Sainsbury’s is holding a fundraiser in store on Friday, December 11 which will include a tombola in the foyer of the store.
