The Melton Mowbray Round Table will be pounding the streets in partnership with the Belvoir Rotary Club this week to raise much needed funds for local based charities.
As well as this, the members will also be heading around Asfordby, East Goscote and Whissendine on Monday (Dec 12), Wednesday (Dec 14) and Monday (Dec 19).
Chairman, Richard Westmoreland said: “Being involved in collecting money for local charities is the most the rewarding part of being involved in Round Table, in the grand scheme of things, we’re lucky and it’s good to give back where we can.”
Last year, the social group who only built their own Santa sleigh in 2015 supported Vista Leicester, Dove Cottage, Matt Hampson Foundation, Spina Bifida, East Goscote Football Club and the 4th Melton Scout group.
The collections commence at 6pm and aim to finish by 8.30pm. For more details about the route like Melton Mowbray Round Table’s Facebook page @meltonmowbrayroundtable.
For anyone interested in doing more, Melton Mowbray Round Table meet twice a month to take part in varied social activities and support the community in anyway that they can.
