A traditional parade, this year marking the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, will be on the march in Melton next Sunday (September 20).

The Tally Ho! Marching Band will lead the parade, setting off from Park Road at 11am and heading along Nottingham Street, High Street and into the Memorial Gardens for a wreath laying ceremony at 11.15am. A short service with Last Post and Reveille will follow before marching back to Nottingham Street where the parade will dismiss. There will also be a service of dedication at Sage Cross Chapel at 6pm where standards will be paraded. The Lord Lieutenant of Leicestershire, Jennifer, Lady Gretton, and the Mayor of Melton Jeanne Douglas will read the lessons and Deacon Dawn Canham will lead both services.
