A dedicated website has been created to keep people updated about the latest developments with the major re-ordering project for Melton’s St Mary’s Church.

As previously reported in the Melton Times building work on the project, which aims to make the Grade I listed church fit for the 21st Century, is hoped to begin at the start of next year.

Key changes are set to include:

Raising the floor in certain parts of the building to create step-free access and allow for under-floors heating and electrics

Creating a single level entrance which will be suitable for disability access

Creating a draught lobby to the main west porch entrance enabling the main doors to be kept open and welcoming for the community

Improving sound and lighting

Installing a purpose-built servery

Re-modelling the Sir Malcolm Sargent memorial organ

If you would like to help sponsor a specific part of the project, hold a fund-raising event or provide goods or services in kind there is a form on the newly created website where you can offer to do this or you can email info@heartofstmarys.co.uk
