The One-Stop shop, in Grange Drive, is holding the raffle and cake sale tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday as a tribute to Jeanette Bateman.

Jeanette, who was 58, fostered dozens of children and was well known in Melton.

One Stop manager Richard Mason said: “I knew Jeanette as a customer and a friend and after speaking to her son we are organising this event for LOROS, which Jeanette supported.

“We’ve had a couple of dozen prizes donated for the raffle, with the top prize being a VIP spa day for two.

“We hope to raise about £400 over the weekend.”
