The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is encouraging smokers in Melton to visit their local stop smoking services ahead of this year’s No Smoking Day on March 11.
The charity’s latest figures show that around 17 per cent of adults in Melton smoke. The national average is 18 per cent.
Dr Mike Knapton, associate medical director at the BHF, said: “We’re encouraging smokers to visit their GP, pharmacist or local stop smoking adviser to get advice on quitting.”
