Two sisters had an extra special reason to celebrate the New Year after their beautiful babies arrived into the world just 18 days apart.
Kirsty Shaw gave birth to her second child, Charlie Michael Paul Robinson, at 7.28am on Boxing Day at the Leicester General Hospital. He arrived eight days early, weighing 6lb 15oz.
Charlie’s proud dad is Paul Robinson, course manager at Melton Golf Club and a director at R&T Auto Centre in Melton.
Kirsty (36), of Brockington Road, Melton, saw in the New Year feeding her little bundle of joy. She said: “I always knew he would come early. I was just hoping he didn’t arrive on Christmas Day morning so we could do presents with my nine-year-old daughter, Poppy.”
Kirsty’s sister, Kelly Hull, gave birth to her baby daughter, Arla-Rose Olivia Beardmore, in the same room at Leicester General Hospital at 10.57pm on December 8. Arla-Rose, who weighed 6lb 13oz, was due on Christmas Day but she arrived early after Kelly had to be induced.
Kelly (38), of Greaves Avenue, also has four sons Liam (18), Tyler (15), Kyle (9) and Reo (3). She said: “It would have been nice if she’d arrived on Christmas Day but I’m just pleased she’s here after everything I went through. It was perfect spending Christmas with her.”
Kelly, who works part-time at Morrisons, added: “I’d like to thank my midwife, Emma Hales, who was really good, my parents, Mick and Linda, and all of the families.”
Arla-Rose’s proud dad, Paul Beardmore, who works for Mars Petcare, also has a 10-year-old son, Lewis.
