A classic car meet and rally at Melton Mowbray Golf Club has raised over £350 for Alzheimer’s Society.

The event on Wednesday (June 17), hosted a selection of classic cars and motorcycles as well as vintage supercars from Grantham, Stamford and Melton.

Melton Mowbray Golf Club captain Brendan Boyce said: “This was the first time we put on an event like this and it was absolutely fabulous and well attended.

“We had up to 54 cars and bikes and raised a great amount of money for the charity from parking, a tombola and food and drink in the clubhouse.

“It was a bonus that the weather stayed fine as we were uncertain as to whether or not it would rain.

“Due to its success, we’re going to repeat the event on Wednesday, September 16 at 5.30pm and want to continue doing this a couple of times during the summer.”

A special message of thanks is given to Mick Curtis and Glenn Price for helping to organise the evening.
