UPDATE: Police name passenger killed in collision involving car and minibus at Grimston

A woman who died after a collision involving a car and a minibus on Six Hills Lane in Grimston, near Melton, has been named by police.

Dorothy Ecob (76) was a passenger in a Nissan Micra travelling on Ostler Lane, towards Six Hills Lane, when it was in collision with a white Ford minibus. Both vehicles left the road in the collision.

The minibus was driving on Six Hills Lane, towards its junction with Ostler Lane. Two others in the Nissan Micra – the driver and a second passenger - were seriously injured and taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC) in Nottingham. At the time of going to press their condition wasn’t known and they were still at the QMC.

The driver of the minibus received minor injuries and was checked over at the QMC before being discharged. The two passengers in the minibus were not injured.

The collision was reported to police at about 9am on Sunday.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw the collision or either vehicle beforehand to contact them on 101, quoting incident number 16000167546.
