Thousands flock to Great Rempstone Steam and Country Show despite fears of weather ruining the attractions
The Turn Post Farm event in Wymeswold, which celbrated 60 years, was in serious jeopardy of being cancelled due to a heavy deluge of rain causing the showground to become treacherous.
Organiser Colin Green said: “The rain was probably the worst I’ve ever seen it on the Saturday. The site became seriously flooded and the ground was tearing up when we tried to move many of our big heavy steam vehicles.

“Amazingly though on Sunday, the weather was the complete opposite like someone had flicked a switch on a radio.
“People from all over the country turned out in their thousands in waterproofs and wellies and had a great time.
“I’m not sure of the fundraising total we’ve made for local charities but I know it’ll still be high.”
Attractions included vintage and classic cars, motorbikes, commercial vehicles and tractors, a dog show, wildlife areas, an air display, rural craft demonstrations and lots of hands-on activities for children.
