Teenager taken to hospital after falling 20 to 30 feet from a tree onto old railway verge in Asfordby Valley

A teenager was taken to Nottingham's Queens Medical Centre (QMC) after falling 20 to 30 feet from a tree onto an old railway verge in Asfordby Valley.

Firefighters helped rescue the 18-year-old who fell from a tree at the top of a disused railway embankment onto the verge of undergrowth and loose soil. Paramedics sedated him before he was taken to the QMC by land ambulance.

The incident happened just before 8pm on Saturday at the Old Pump House on Brook Crescent.

The teenager’s injuries were not thought to be life threatening. His condition wasn’t known at the time of going to press.
