Geoff and Carol Evans have run the pub for well over 20 years and they were delighted to hear they had scooped the title again, finishing well in front of the second placed pub.

Melton CAMRA chairman Kevin Billson said: “CAMRA appreciate the consistently good standard and selection of real ales available behind the bar and the pub provides for both diners and locals calling in for a quick pint.

“It really is a family affair at the Stilton Cheese with Geoff and Carol’s daughter, Lynne Bruno, running the bar and looking after an excellent selection of ales and her sister and her husband, Claire and Campbell Thorpe, running the kitchen.

“A third generation are also involved with Claire and Campbell’s sons, Sam and Lewis, working in the bar and kitchen respectively. Lewis is doing well on his catering course and the family would love him to move into the business.”
