The Venue at Phoenix House has had its garden transformed by thirteen young adults who have mucked in together to provide a seating area and give the outdoor space a new look.

Yasmin, Prince’s Trust team leader for Melton, said: “Melton Team One have worked really hard for two weeks and the finished result is something to be proud of.

“Team members raised funds for this project by taking part in a sponsored four mile walk and car wash outside Melton Fire Station. Collectively they raised £150 which payed for materials to help them do planting, digging, painting and sanding.

“This project has taught the young people handy skills and helped them manage money and budget properly.

“Their achievements have been fantastic. Thanks must go to Sainsbury’s who helped donate funds to help change the garden.”

The Prince’s Trust programme is aimed at students, aged 16-25, needing a confidence boost and the young unemployed.
