Newsflash: Fire kills 130 birds in aviary in Melton
Around 130 birds have died in a blaze in an aviary in Melton this afternoon (Friday).
Firefighters from Melton were called to a property in Thorpe Road just before 1.10pm, where they found a wooden shed and aviary alight.
Sadly, 130 birds were killed in the fire. The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
Firefighters remain on scene damping down.
