On behalf of the Belvoir Cricket and Countryside Trust I wish to thank the 2015-16 Mayor of the Borough of Melton, Councillor Jeanne Douglas, for choosing us as one of her two charities during her year in office.

We are enormously grateful for the donation of £2,402.20 and would like to extend our thanks to all those who supported the Mayor’s Appeal in any way.

The Trust’s projects range from developing junior cricket sections at club level and re-introducing cricket into schools to getting youngsters up and active and sharing our beautiful countryside on the Belvoir Castle Estate.

This summer we added two new Belvoir Bees venues to our weekly kwik cricket programme, took the Teach Cricket project into 14 schools and some 1,800 primary school children and 100 special needs youngsters from 36 schools in total took part in one of our Cricket and Countryside Education Days.

The support we received from the Mayor’s Appeal and the local community means a lot to us and to our many volunteers who see week in, week out the value of the Trust’s work with local children.

Darren Bicknell, Chief executive of the Belvoir Cricket and Countryside Trust
