Or would you like to give feedback on a police operation you have witnessed on the railways?

If so, then you could help the British Transport Police (BTP) shape how they police the rail network in the Midlands by joining their Independent Advisory Group.

The BTP are looking to recruit enthusiastic members of the public and rail staff from across the region to join the group, to help them strengthen their relationship with the diverse range of communities they serve.

Inspector Dave Rams from the BTP, said: “This is a chance for you to have a real say in the policing of your local railway and to be the voice for your community.

“It is a voluntary role which would suit those with an interest in the railway, and we are particularly keen to hear from anyone from a vulnerable or minority passenger group, who feels they can advise us on how our actions are interpreted by their community.

“What are we getting right? What are we not doing so well? We are fully accountable to the travelling public and rail staff, so it’s important we understand the answers to those questions so we can make sure we are offering the best service possible.

“If you are interested in joining the group, or want to find out more, please get in touch via email on [email protected].”

The Midlands Independent Advisory Group will meet quarterly and while members will not be paid, they will be entitled to claim associated costs, such as travel.
