A brewery has created a '˜hair of the dog' brew so owners can share an after work pint with their pet pooch.

Bottom Sniffer Beer is a non-alcoholic concoction which contains dandelion and burdock and is designed specifically for dogs.

Tails will also be wagging over the chicken flavoured drink created by Woof & Brew and it is recommended as a ‘treat’ for your four-legged pal.

The £2.99 bottle has been taste-tested by a variety of different breeds with their website stating nine out of 10 dogs “lapped up the samples”.

The brew is now flying off the shelves at Scampers Natural Pet Store in Soham, Cambridgeshire, and customers can also by multipacks of the drink after being offered a taste.

Piers Smart, owner of Scampers, said: “Apart from the fact it’s a fun product and creates an iconic treat, there is also substance behind the name.

“The average dog nose is anywhere between 10,000 to 100,000 times more sensitive than ours.

“Sniffing each others bottoms is more than a doggy hello or hand shake.”

The brew, which can be served as a drink or over food, is light brown in colour and is sold in a 330ml glass bottle after being created by St Ives firm Woof & Brew.

The product can be purchased online but it is not recommended for dogs who are under four months old.

The website BottomSniffer.com adds: “Although this product contains no alcohol we would recommend dogs don’t drive.”
