Around 200 people attended to see elegant works of art by local artists which were on display on Friday and Saturday.

The event was organised by artists Gill Stubbs and Ann Head, with help of members from the church. A total of 27 artists took part and 140 paintings and photographs were exhibited.

Visitors were able to vote for their favourite exhibit with the winning piece of art chosen called ‘Blowing Away’ by Geoff Collier.

There were a few exhibits from children at the local playschool and there was a prize draw for one lucky person who voted for the winning entry which got the most votes.

A raffle was held and refreshments including Ploughman’s lunches and cakes were served.

Organiser Ann Head said: “It was felt that the event was very successful by all concerned, there were a steady flow of visitors throughout both days.

“Thanks to everyone involved in making this a most enjoyable event.
