Dementia sufferers and their families in Melton can now call on help at the town library.

Twenty five books on coping with the illness are now available in county libraries, including Melton and Syston, while patients can also be signposted through GPs as part of the national Books on Prescription scheme.

All of the titles have been recommended by health experts, as well as people with experience of dementia themselves, or living with or caring for someone with the disease.

The books offer practical advice for carers as well as suggestions for therapeutic activities. For more visit www.leics.gov.uk/meltonmowbray
