As the season of goodwill approaches housing developer David Wilson Homes is supporting the communities it serves by setting up foodbank collection points at its developments in Leicestershire - including one in Queniborough.

Local residents will be able to donate non-perishable food items and toiletries at various developments in the county until Sunday, December 20.

Food collected will be donated to Trussell Trust foodbanks in Ashby, Coalville, Hinckley and Leicester before being distributed to those in need around Leicestershire over Christmas.

One of the food collection points is The Millstones development, on Millstone Lane, Queniborough, which is open from 12.30pm to 5.30pm on Mondays and 10am to 5.30pm.

Food items being donated should be non-perishable such as UHT or powdered milk, tinned vegetables, rice, pasta, tinned soups, porridge, cereals, jam, biscuits, tea/coffee and tinned fish. Other useful items that can help families in need include sanitary products, toiletries and pet food.
