There were plenty of new and familiar faces at the annual Asfordby arts, garden produce and crafts show.

The event now in its 3rd year was held at the Parish Hall and attracted over 500 entries in a variety of different classes.

Participants went head-to-head competing for prizes and to be awarded best in show. Organisers were particularly pleased with the high standard of competition as well as the vast increase in attendance.

A spokesperson for the village committee said: “This year was very successful and we enjoyed a great turnout.

“We had lots of different entrants including Asfordby Captain Close School and the village brownies and rainbow groups.

“The winner of the best in show award was Mrs Parrot who won with her selection of chrysanthemums.”

Proceeds from the show will be used to put on an support next year’s event.
