Thousands take part in Tough Mudder challenge at Belvoir Castle
Around 13,000 people took part in the 12-mile obstacle course designed not only to test physical strength but also mental grit.
The event saw participants braving electric shocks, jumping in ice baths and overcoming other muddy challenges.

Tough Mudder places an emphasis on camaraderie instead of finishing times, with competitors working in teams to complete the course.
Children were also able to participate in the action through Fruit Shoot Mini Mudder, a mini version of Tough Mudder, which is a mile long, and made up of four untimed laps.
Nikki Emmans, marketing vice president of Tough Mudder, said: “We were thrilled to take Tough Mudder Midlands to the brand new venue of Belvoir castle for 2016, a stunning location for our participants to test themselves to the limit.
“Thousands of Mudders enjoyed the surroundings and new obstacles including Block Ness Monster and Frequent Flyers’ Club.
“We also welcomed over 800 children to our Fruit Shoot Mini Mudder course, designed for kids aged seven to 12, allowing for a great day out for all the family.”
