Harby History Group have launched their second book “Harby in the Vale of Belvoir 1975-2014.”

The book is the second volume of Harby’s history and was launched by Melton Council leader Byron Rhodes at Harby’s Valley Christian Centre.

During the launch councillor Rhodes congratulated the group on the quality of the content and reminded the younger generation that they now face the challenge to produce book three.

John Blundy, vice chairman Harby History Group, said: “The book contains 187 pages of text with 130 illustrations, predominantly colour photographs. It covers many aspects of village life including the objection to the proposed coal mine.”

The book is available at £13 from Melton Bookshop, Leicester Street, Melton and Harby Garage Shop.
