Firefighters tackle blazing combine harvester
Firefighters were alerted after a combine harvester caught fire at Ratcliffe-on-the-Wreake this afternoon (Friday).
Crews from Birstall and the Eastern Station attended the incident, in a field off Humble Lane at 1.51pm.
A spokesperson for Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said: “A call was received from a farmer reporting a combine harvester on fire.
“On arrival the incident commander confirmed the fire was in the engine bay of the combine harvester.
“Fire extinguishers and a scotty backpack water pump were used to extinguish the fire.”
