Firefighters in Leicestershire have started a 24-hour strike.
They walked out from 7am today in the latest strike about changes to pensions and other working conditions.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service has pledged to continue to provide response cover, although on a much-reduced scale.
The Fire Brigades’ Union has said it is striking because the changes, including moving to a later retirement age, were unrealistic and unacceptable.
To date, there have been 48 periods of strike action affecting the fire and rescue service in England.
