Firefighters cut a horse free after it got stuck in its horsebox

Firefighters rescued a horse this morning (Friday) after it got stuck in the door of its horsebox at Buckminster.

A crew from the Melton station and a technical rescue team from the Southern Fire Station attended the incident, in Sproxton Road at 10.42am.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said: “A call was received stating a horse was stuck within the door of its horsebox.

“A vet was in attendance and the horse was sedated before our crews used cutting equipment and a saw to release the horse.”
